Nathan started coaching in 2001. After a long break from gymnastics, he had decided to train again at the program his little brother was still training at. The boys coach stopped showing up one day, and he was faced with them closing the boys program or him taking it over. That’s how it all started. As he grew as a coach, he was pulled over to the WAG side also. This is also where he met Sheree, another coach at that gym. When he eventually left that program, he had grown a Boys Gymnastics Program that had never competed, and competed them up through Level 6, and had taken a Compulsory only WAG Program and gotten them up to Level 9. On the side, Nathan had also worked for cheer gyms, coaching their tumbling, as well as operating several Parks & Rec Gymnastics Programs. In 2007, he opened his own Gymnastics facility, Lighthouse Gymnastics Academy(LGA) while still doing all the other things. Eventually LGA grew to become Lighthouse Sports Center, offering Gymnastics primarily, but also Cheer, Dance, and Martial Arts. LSC has Competition teams for all its sports and offers DP(JO) and XCEL for Gymnastics. In 2021, Nathan and Sheree had navigated through Covid lockdowns in Los Angeles and learned to run things more remotely. They realized their dream of getting their kids out of the Los Angeles area was possible and that the LSC brand was strong enough to adapt to them running it remotely. Nathan maintains a current Professional Membership and background check on file with USAG and a copy of the Summary page of his USAG certs is attached. Nathan is comfortable coaching all ages of Gymnastics.

​Sheree has experience in Dance, Gymnastics and Cheerleading both as an athlete and as a coach. She has been a head Cheer team coach and Cheer advisor, coached recreational and lower level Gymnastics team groups, and has taught recreational Dance. Along with choreography, Sheree enjoys teaching the younger athletes the most and building their foundation in the sport. Sheree has planned and executed bi-annual shows that include over 500 students, from start to finish. She also runs our pro-shop, which includes consignments contracts, ordering competition apparel for all sports, maintaining stock of practice uniforms and squad Leo’s as well as warm-ups, backpacks and all apparel and accessory needs. She both designs and creates much of our apparel. Sheree truly enjoys interacting with athletes and their parents and loves to build relationships that last.
